RKC Waalwijk 1 - 2 Feyenoord Rotterdam 27th Nov 2011 A deflected goal by Jerson Cabral with seven minutes remaining saw Feyenoord claim a narrow victory over 10-man RKC Waalwijk as they look to keep up the pressure in the upper reaches of the Eredivisie.
RKC had taken the lead through Rick ten Voorde in the first half before they were reduced to 10 men when Robert Braber was sent off for a late tackle on Otman Bakkal.
The visitors levelled with 14 minutes to go through John Guidetti before Cabral's late intervention ensured all three points for Feyenoord.
It was a low-key start to the first half and it took until the 34th minute for the first chance of the game as the visitors tested RKC goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet who dived to his left to tip Kelvin Leerdam's shot away for a corner.
Leerdam then shot from 10 yards but it was comfortably gathered by Zoet.
However, it was the hosts who took the lead 10 minutes before the break. Adil Auassar pulled the ball back from the byline which goalkeeper Erwin Mulder could only push to the feet of Ten Voorde and although he did not make clean contact with the ball, it still went over the line.
Guidetti sent a shot just wide in injury time as Feyenoord responded and they were inches from equalising after an hour when Karim El Ahmadi touched on Cabral's shot which hit the post.
Minutes later Braber got a straight red card for a late tackle on Bakkal and with 14 minutes left Feyenoord were level.
Guidetti lost his marker just inside the penalty area and turned and curled the ball into the net.
El Ahmadi hit the post as Feyenoord searched for the winner which came in the 83rd minute, Cabral's shot taking a hefty deflection off Drost to leave Zoet with no chance.
