Atletico Madrid were left still searching for their first away win of the season after being held to a goalless draw by promoted Granada.
Although the match failed to produce any goals, there was plenty of entertainment for the fans at Los Carmenes stadium to enjoy and both sides will feel they could have come away with the victory.
The result means that third-bottom Granada could celebrate their fifth point of the campaign since returning to the top flight, while Atletico move onto nine points after what they will feel was another disappointing result.
Atletico brought in a host of new faces this summer, including Radamel Falcao for a club-record 40million euros, as well as the likes of Arda Turan, Silvio and Diego, but this draw means the Rojiblancos have just two wins from seven games so far and are already eight points behind the leaders in La Liga. They have also failed to score in five of those fixtures.
Gregorio Manzano's men had lost both their previous two away matches without scoring and that poor form looked like continuing tonight as Granada enjoyed a good start.
With just four minutes on the clock, Ikechukwu Uche looked to have given the home side the lead, but his header from near the penalty spot came back off the post with Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois well beaten.
Granada defender Inigo Lopez then headed a free-kick just wide before Dani Benitez missed a gilt-edged chance in the 20th minute when an Atletico defensive error left him one-on-one with Courtois, but his chip over the Atletico goalkeeper dropped just beyond the far post.
Soon after that Atletico had a great chance themselves, but Jose Antonio Reyes was denied by a superb one-handed save by Roberto Fernandez following a slick move by the visitors.

Atletico Madrid defender Alvaro Dominguez feels his side need to get maximum points from their next four matches of the Primera Division Atletico looking to recover some lost ground in the best teams.
Despite strong investment in new players this summer, Atletico has had a slow start to the campaign and who are in eighth place after six games, six points behind leaders and five seats in the Champions League .
It is still early in the season, but Atletico will not want to slide to drift much more than his rivals in his bid to claim a top four finish for the first time since 2009.
However, after facing the likes of Barcelona, Valencia and Seville so far, the athlete has what looks like a more favorable career games against Granada, Mallorca, Athletic Bilbao and Real Zaragoza, and Dominguez wants a return of 100% of the games.

"Almost every team is stronger at home than away (but) after two defeats away we have to start winning right away if you want to be in the top four.''
Granada is located in the bottom two games ahead of this weekend after picking up just four points from promotion back into the top flight, but Dominguez was expected to be a walk in the park by his side in the stadium in Los Cármenes.
"Granada is a good team and we will show in this season. Nobody is going to make it easier for us. We have to fight against anyone who we face,''he said.
Granada can be fighting on the wrong side of the table, but his one win this season was a remarkable one and broke down last season the fourth-placed Villarreal 1-0 finalists.
Fabri's men also pushed González Valencia near the last day, down to a solitary goal from Sergio Canales at the Mestalla, and defender Allan Nyom wants his team to coincide with the two performances.
