Rayo Vallecano gained their third win the Primera Division this season like a new-look Malaga reduced to 10 men in their 2-0 loss at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.

Pedro's seventh minute goal put Rayo in Malaga control and opportunities to get back into the game dealt a blow when Eliseu expelled from 10 minutes before half-time as a professional offense.

Raul Tamudo then sealed the win for the promoted side Rayo claimed their second win in a row and moved into eighth in the overall standings, while the big-spending clubs Andalusia stay in the sixth after falling to their third successive defeat.

Tamudo Rayo striker has a chance of the match after just three minutes but his shot hit 12-page safety by Malaga goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero.

Van Nistelrooy then headed chance over the bar in the 60th minute as luck seems to have run out for Manuel Pellegrini's men.
