Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri has a lot of injury problems ahead of tomorrow's Series a match in Catania.
The Nerazzurri are without the injured Julio Cesar, Chivu Christian, Philippe Coutinho and Wesley Sneijder - all ready to recover in time for the Champions League on Tuesday in Lille.
Andrea Ranocchia and Joel Obi are also absent through suspension and to complicate matters for Ranieri, his team suffered a blow this week with Diego Forlan set to be sidelined for two months.
Forlan pulled a hamstring in the match for the World Cup Uruguay against Paraguay on Tuesday.
"Forlan injury is a real shame,''said Ranieri." It is a serious and need time to recover.''
The only consolation for Inter is that Ranieri will be on the bench this weekend after his appeal against his ban of touchline during the match was successful.
Ranieri was sent to the stands for insulting the referee during his team's defeat 3-0 at home to Napoli in the last round.
That result dropped to 17 Inter in the standings, one point clear of the relegation zone.
With only four points in five league games, Ranieri knows his team can not fail to Catania.
"It's a tough game,''said Ranieri.
"Juventus fought in Catania and Inter lost two years ago. But we have to win.
"Our thoughts are only bringing home the three points to reduce our gap of seven points with Serie A leaders (Juventus and Udinese).''

Catania rivals also have their share of problems injury. Argentine midfielder Pablo Ledesma suffered a muscle problem in training on Thursday and joined Nicolas Spolli, Giuseppe Bellusci, Alessandro Potenza, Paul Alvarez, David Suazo and Marco Biagianti the sidelines.
The Sicilian team enter the game in the back of a 3-3 draw in Novara who raised the two points ahead of Inter.
