Lazio won his third straight victory in Serie A and climbed to second place beating Bologna 2-0 tonight.
An own goal in the first half of Bologna striker Robert Acquafresca put the visitors on their way before Senad Lulic Lazio double advantage of his team early in the second half.
Bologna, with just one win so far, could not find a way past goalkeeper Marchetti Federico Lazio and slid to their fifth defeat of the campaign.
The result lifted Edy Reja's men just one point of league leaders Udinese after seven games.
Lazio went to meet Renato Dall Ara in 'stadium looking to replicate the way I saw them beat Roma 2-1 in the derby of the weekend Eternal City.
Lazio struggled to put together a good move in the first 20 minutes and we were lucky to go in front midway through the first half as powerful Hernanes' free kick was deflected into his own net by Acquafresca.
Acquafresca almost equalized a minute later, but his right leg strike from the edge of the area remained Marchetti.
The home side continued to press forward and was rewarded almost 35 minutes.
With Marchetti out of position, Acquafresca hit a shot from 15 meters Lulic goalbound but made a vital clearance to deny Bologna equalizer.

Lazio extended their lead three minutes after the restart.
Lulic fed Djibril Cisse in the box and his powerful shot beat the heart of Bologna, goalkeeper Federico Agliardi.
Bologna surged forward more aggressively, but could not find a way past Lazio defense well.
With 15 minutes remaining, Archimede Morleo free kick curled Marchetti forced to dive to his right to keep the ball out.
At the other end, Cisse Lulic found within the area and eight yards of the French effort was just wide of the post.
Lazio held on for their third win on the road this season.
