Matthew Stafford, the best and most Jahvid openers Detroit Lions play in the projected other end of the exhibition on Thursday against the Buffalo Bills. But do not expect to see in the field long.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz, said that "kids who are healthy will play" against the Bills.
"You do not play much," said Schwartz. "They played 30, some representatives (against the Patriots), most of them play somewhere in that neighborhood. We're going to play by ear, but does not play much."
The Lions played most of their owners and in the second quarter in last week's victory over the New England Patriots. That is likely to see a series or two Thursday.
"I know I will play a series or two, and I'm going to play two sets as hard as I can," said center Dominic Raiola. "Do your work, getting the support and the rest of the group. That's what we're really looking for."
Schwartz said defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch, who returned to practice today for the first time since injuring his shoulder Aug. 19 against the Cleveland Browns, is one of the regulars who will be held on the sidelines.
Receiver Nate Burleson (elbow), running back Maurice Morris (hand), defensive tackle Nick Fairley (foot), offensive tackle Jason Fox (foot) and cornerback Alphonso Smith (foot) also will be held out.
Running back Jahvid Best, who suffered a concussion against Cleveland and did not play against New England, meets Thursday, Schwartz said. Rookie offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath is a game-time decision after leaving practice early on Monday and missing the session today with "a matter of disease."
