The Cincinnati Bengals could be in a situation different than the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. It will save the rookie Andy Dalton against one of the oldest active quarterback in the league in Kerry Collins.
Indy is the hope that it will use Collins come Week 1, and Cincy is the hope that Dalton continues to improve before its imminent start opening week.
The Colts got some good news when it announced that Peyton Manning was taken off the PUP list on Monday afternoon.
The bad news is that it still will be without their starting quarterback for the end of the season against the Bengals on Thursday.
Manning will be able to start practicing with the team, but no date for his return to game action. Still could conceivably miss the opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 11.
PUP list players have until September 3 to be activated or be forced to participate in the first six games of the regular season. The Colts without Manning were convicted during that time so I will hope that is ready to go sooner rather than later.
Cincinnati Bengals hope that their situation improves quarterback this coming week.
