Preston raised his game in the half progressed and I saw Danny Mayor shoot everything after a run from the halfway line before the goalkeeper Luke Daniels approached drilling a free kick Paul Parry in his own net.
But Southend were ahead 10 minutes into the second half when Ryan Hall's shot was rejected by Stuckmann to Bilel Mohsni, who headed the ball to unleash a volley Dickinson with his right foot on the network.
