Marseille 3 - 0 Paris Saint-Germain 27th Nov Highlights 2011 Paris St Germain missed the chance to move level on points with Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier tonight after being thumped at arch rivals Marseille.
The big-spending visitors have now failed to win any of their last three league encounters, increasing the pressure on coach Antoine Kombouare.
They were second best at the Stade Velodrome after Loic Remy put Marseille ahead in the ninth minute.
Morgan Amalfitano doubled the advantage 20 minutes into the second half and Andre Ayew added a third for Didier Deschamps' side late on.
PSG started brightly but their early momentum was halted when Marseille went in front from their first meaningful attack.
Cesar Azpilicueta burst down the right before whipping over a cross which Remy, after rising above Christophe Jallet, glanced beyond PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.
PSG almost levelled before the break but Mohamed Sissoko saw a 25-yard drive crash back off the post with Steve Mandanda beaten.
The second half was one-way traffic as PSG wilted in the face of some determined Marseille pressure.
Stephane M'bia almost made it 2-0 after 53 minutes but could only fire his shot over the bar after good work from Jordan Ayew.
The hosts did increase their lead eight minutes later, though, Jordan Ayew picking out Amalfitano and he burst into the box before slotting a precise shot across Sirigu and into the far corner.
Jordan Ayew flashed a volley wide with 19 minutes to go but his brother Andre completed PSG's misery with an 84th-minute header which squirmed past Sirigu. The win moved Marseille up to ninth in the table. source: http://soccernet.espn.go.com
