Romania's slim hopes of qualifying for Euro 2012 were ended tonight, as they were held to a draw at home to Belarus.
Adrian Mutu scored twice, the second from the penalty spot to put twice as the hosts ahead, but goals from Sergey Kornilenko and Stanislav Dragun Belarus won a point from the clash in Group D.
Romania had always faced an uphill task to reform France or Bosnia and Herzegovina to claim a high place and two years, but started brightly in Bucharest.
