Izal McLeod scored twice as Barnet struggled to beat Gillingham 3-1 in the paint Trophy Johnstone.
Gary Richards early goal was disallowed six minutes later with a penalty of McLeod, and Mark Marshall scored on a hard rough afternoon before McLeod sealed it.
