Goalkeeper Jack Turner was saving AFC Wimbledon, as he recovered from blowing a late to beat Stevenage on penalties in the first round of the Johnstone Paint Trophy second.
Rashid Yussuff thought he had won the game for the Dons on 58 minutes after the penalty had nullified Hatton Sam Lawrie Wilson starter luck, just for Mark Roberts to level at 2-2 in dramatic death.
However, after Darius Charles and Yussuff Boro Dons' was lost from the point of, Lee Minshull did not err and 19 years old, Turner Wilson refused to claim victory.
The Dons fell behind in the seventh minute when Brett Johnson clearance Wilson hit and bounced off the bottom with Turner stranded.
AFC Wimbledon were level at nine minutes after the break when Boro substitute Ryan Charles Jackson broke down in the box and the former Stevenage midfielder topped off Hatton. The change was complete four minutes later when Jack Midson Yussuff fed into the box and the 22-year-old Julian shot past six yards.
However, Roberts slammed home of John Mousinho cross on 90 minutes to force penalties. Hatton, Ricky Wellard, Chris Bush, and Minshull scored for the Dons and Mousinho, Craig Reid and Josh Walker scored for Boro before Turner Wilson saved.
