Borussia Dortmund vs Kaiserslautern preview
Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has called for a positive reaction from his side following their European disappointment as they look to move to the top of the Bundesliga standings with victory over Kaiserslautern.
The Westphalians were knocked out of the Champions League after collecting only four points from six group matches, and they will be keen to move on from that by climbing back above local rivals Schalke and Bayern Munich into top spot.
"Elimination (from the Champions League) feels like a defeat, but we have never let such negative effects carry over into our next game,'' Klopp said at the pre-match press conference.
"That was not our first setback and our reaction in the past has nearly always been positive.
"We have set our sights very, very high and we want to play a really good game.''
Captain Sebastian Kehl will not take part after picking up head and face wounds - which he said were akin to "fighting both the Klitschko brothers at the same time'' - in the clash with Marseille on Tuesday.
He will not play again in 2011, while Moritz Leitner also misses out tomorrow.
Despite coming undone 3-2 at home to OM, Dortmund remain one of the toughest propositions in the Bundesliga, according to Kaiserslautern coach Marco Kurz.
"But that does not mean we need to be starstruck by them,'' he said. "Instead, we must be courageous.''
The Red Devils will be looking to move out of the bottom three with a win in Dortmund while they have already strengthened their squad for the second half of the season by signing Nicolai Jorgensen on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.
"Nicolai is a young and hungry player and he knows the Bundesliga,'' said Kurz.
"We are convinced that he has the qualities which can help us.''
Kurz has all of his current playing squad at his disposal as he looks to plot an upset in front of 81,000 fans at the Westfalenstadion
