Barnsley vs Leeds United preview
Barnsley teenagers John Stones and Paul Digby could be included in the squad for the home clash with Leeds.Tykes manager Keith Hill has hinted he may call on defender Stones, 17, and midfielder Digby, 16, as his small squad has been hit by injuries.
Midfielder Danny Drinkwater, on loan from Manchester United, remains sidelined due to a thigh injury, winger Jim O'Brien is struggling with a stomach muscle problem and striker Reuben Noble-Lazarus has a hamstring strain.
Newcastle forward Nile Ranger has returned to his parent club after his loan spell was cut short due to a twisted ankle, while another loanee, defender Miles Addison, will return to Derby after the Leeds game.
Hill has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side look to halt a run of three straight defeats by completing the double over their Yorkshire rivals. The Tykes won 2-1 at Elland Road in November.
Robert Snodgrass is out for Leeds after having his appendix removed on Thursday.
It is not known how long the Scotland international will be out for but boss Simon Grayson is hoping he will return to action sooner rather than later.
Defender Tom Lees is doubtful after suffering from concussion in the Boxing Day defeat at Derby. Lees was replaced by Paul Connolly following a clash of heads in the first half and Grayson will take doctors advice before making a decision on whether he will play.
Fellow centre-half Alex Bruce has been recalled early from his loan spell at Huddersfield and could return to the side. Grayson dropped Connolly to the substitutes' bench at Derby and switched Lees to right-back, with Darren O'Dea returning to the heart of defence alongside Patrick Kisnorbo.
Skipper Jonny Howson remains sidelined with a knee injury until early in the new year and was replaced in midfield at Derby by striker Ross McCormack.
Grayson must decide whether to keep McCormack in a deeper role or revert back to a two-pronged strikeforce with the Scot partnering either Luciano Becchio or Andy Keogh
