Substitute Leroy Fer reached a late winner Danish Odense FC Twente elbowed past the opposition and book their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.
The Eredivisie side knew victory was likely to be sufficient to ensure progression of the group K, but they made hard work of their opponents took an early lead then threatened to take a place in the final minutes.
Twente looked sharp in the early stages, shooting just wide Nacer Chadli and Peter Wisgerhof firing a right foot shot over the bar before Ola John forced the first save of Stefan Wessels on a long range free kick.
The visitors took the lead completely against the run of play on 11 minutes when Baye falling home left-footed shot to the first real opportunity for his team from the dispossessed party defender Douglas.
Chris Sorensen fired a long-term effort over the crossbar six minutes later, but the Dutch gradually began to settle and Wout Brama approached the 26 minutes that forced another save from Wessels.
Denny Landzaat shot over the bar and Roberto Rosales forced another save from the busy Wessels then Luuk de Jong came even closer when his close range header from a cross of Emir Bajrami returned from the bar.
Seemingly inevitable equalizer came duly Twente on 35 minutes when John sent a pass deep in the left wing and rose to head the Landzaat ball past Wessels from six yards, the ball takes a deviation defender Daniel Hoegh.
Less than two minutes later Landzaat grabbed his second, again, engaging in a deep cross from John, this time producing a wonderful forehand volley that beat all ends Wessels to put his side in front.
Sorensen was nearly equal to the OB seven minutes of the second half when his shot was tipped around the post of Twente goalkeeper Nikolay Mihailov.
And the Danes made a draw in the hour after Landzaat dirty Sorensen, who came clean to float a free kick in the box, where the fall came to meet and direct a powerful header past Mihailov.
Twente finally secured the points eight minutes from time with another cross John, this time from the left, Fer met with the head to secure qualification for the next stage of his hand.
