Motherwell manager Stuart McCall revealed he had a "couple of doubts'' for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash but would make a call nearer kick-off.
Motherwell left-back Stevie Hammell (ankle) is a major doubt for the visit of Celtic but Steve Jennings has recovered from the back spasm that forced him out of the victory at Inverness.
Neil Lennon wishes Celtic to be on guard when they return to Fir Park for the first time since they lost 2-0 in February.
Bob McHugh (ankle), Lee Hollis (hip) and Steven Saunders (Achilles) stay on the sidelines.
A John Sutton double put a dent in the Hoops' ultimately fruitless Clydesdale Bank Premier League hopes, but they repaid Well with a 4-0 thrashing at Parkhead before a comfortable 3-0 win over the Lanarkshire side in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden.
Celtic recorded another 4-0 win over the Steelmen in September but go in to this game points adrift of their second-placed hosts, albeit with a game in hand.
The Parkhead manager is hoping there is no adverse reaction to Thursday night's morale-boosting 3-1 Europa League Group I win over Rennes at Parkhead.
"I think that 2-0 defeat at Fir Park hurt the players and it was off the back of a nice win against Rangers,'' said Lennon.
"I think the pitch will be in better state this time, which might suit us better, but with Motherwell being at home it will be a hard game.''
"We had a nice win on Thursday night but they must be cautious that they don't slip in to the same level of performance that they had at Fir Park that day.
"They lost John Sutton, who might have been a large loss, but (Michael) Higdon has come in and completed well.
"Stuart McCall has completed a superb job there,'' Lennon added. "They still have the same personnel which got them to the cup final last season.
"There is obviously a nice collective spirit there and they are a nice footy team as well.''
"They have been consistent and their results home and away they have been excellent.
Glenn Loovens is out for Celtic. The Dutch defender suffered a recurrence of a hamstring complaint against Rennes.
Thomas Rogne was ineligible for the game against the French club while Badr El-Kaddouri was cup-tied and both return.
Joe Ledley (calf) and Ki Sung-yueng (disease) are doubts.
