Marseille vs Olympiakos Highlights

Ioannis Fetfatzidis scored the only goal as Marseille beat Olympiacos in the Champions League Group F clash at the Stade Velodrome.

The substitute scored seven minutes after having set foot on the pitch to give his side a lifeline potential to reach the knockout stages.

The result leaves Marseille in the second group, four points behind Arsenal, who beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 thanks to a double tonight how Robin Van Persie.

This means that Marseille need to beat Borussia Dortmund in the final group match to secure second place and progress to the knockout stages as Arsenal have qualified in first place.

Dortmund beat Olympiacos in third place to keep their hopes of getting a place in the Europa League alive, but they still could finish second if they beat Arsenal in the final group match, if Germany does not win in Marseille.

French Ligue 1 side dominated the first half and had the first chance of the game when Alou Diarra headed Mathieu Valbuena corner over the bar for 11 minutes.

Andre Ayew forced Olympiacos defender Avraam Papadopoulos in an office five minutes after a left-footed strike from 20 yards that the home team had the better of the opening exchanges.

Olympiacos then had a couple of good chances in quick succession, 10 minutes before the break when Steve Mandanda Marseille goalkeeper saved a shot first before tip Kevin Mirallas 20 yard strike Holebas Jose over the crossbar.

Jordan Ayew Marseille striker then fired a shot over the crossbar, as neither side could find a way to break the deadlock before the break.

Valbuena was about five minutes in the second half when his close range strike was rejected by Megyeri before the French team could not do anything out of the corner.

Marseille continued to press with shots of Jordan Ayew Valbuena and shook his solid defense as a Greek queen rock champions of Super League.

The Ligue 1 began to dominate possession, but the chances that Olympiacos had their own strike of 61 minutes when Ivan Marcano was blocked by Benoit Cheyrou seconds after Mirallas strike from the edge of the area was trapped by Mandanda.

The momentum is displaced towards the Olympiacos and took the lead thanks to strikes Fetfatzidis in minute 82.

The substitute midfielder lofted ball pickup Francisco Yeste, who flew on Marseille defender before firing an unstoppable low shot inside the far post to seal the victory.

Loic Remy attempted to tie the score with a speculative shot but his effort flew over the bar as Marseille succumbed to a defeat at home.
