Brazil coach Mano Menezes refuses to accept his side's below-par performance against Paraguay in the Copa America group stages will have any bearing on their quarter-final outing against the same opposition.
The Selecao made it to the knockout stage despite a slow start to the continental tournament, which saw the five-time World Cup winners open with draws against Venezuela and Paraguay before a 4-2 win over Ecuador sealed their passage.
Brazil needed a last-minute goal from Fred to salvage a 2-2 draw with the Paraguayans in their first meeting, but Menezes expects an improved showing tomorrow - particularly from his backline.
"I'm happy with the defenders' form except for the Paraguay match, in which we had many errors,'' said Menezes.
"Nerves increase because the importance of the game increases. I don't know whether or not Paraguay think the same.''
Brazil defender Thiago Silva is a doubt for the match after he missed training yesterday with a thigh problem.
Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar explained: "Thiago Silva remained with the physios, training in a swimming pool.
"We think it would not be good to risk him in training, but he has shown improvements and could possibly play on Sunday.''
If Silva is ruled out, Chelsea defender David Luiz will come in.
Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino is worried about his team's form after they surrendered a two-goal advantage in the final two minutes to draw 3-3 with Venezuela in their final group outing.
"The Venezuela match was worrying and we will try to correct mistakes in order not to repeat them against Brazil,'' Martino said.
